Grub-n-Go operates under the motto, “Gourmet nice without the gourmet price!” This quaint sandwich shop, located next door to Walgreens’ in downtown Berkeley, close to Cal and only a couple of blocks from Berkeley High School and Berkeley City College, features an array of gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, baked potatoes, party platters, snacks, drinks and desserts.

La Burrita has been voted the best burrito in town- like a million years in a row. In addition, they make delicious enchiladas, tacos, salsa and nachos.

La Note lives up to its reputation as one of the East Bay’s best and most popular restaurants. The decor is very nice, including a beautiful garden patio that is usually open during the day. However, the biggest reason that for over 10 years this restaurant has been packing them in, is the food.

Berkeley’s oldest pizza parlor is now among Berkeley’s very best. Their hand-tossed crust is fantastic. If you believe that a quality pizza begins and ends with the crust, or if you consider yourself a pizza connoisseur then should go to LaVal’s on the northside of campus & give them a try.

Located in North Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto at the Epicurious Garden, Soop is a wonderful addition to the Berkeley culinary experience. Soop creates 10 ever-changing handcrafted soups, stews, chowders, chilis and pasta sauces made fresh daily using their own homemade stocks and organic ingredients.

Located only 1 block from the Cal Campus, downstairs from Kip’s is Sun Hong Kong. The newly remodeled restaurant has a full Hong Kong-style Chinese menu and a full American menu all in one. The Chinese menu features a variety of dishes including traditional entreés, rice plates, sizzling platters, curry dishes, clay pots and noodle soups. The American menu has everything- burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta dishes, omelets, appetizers, huge salads, soups and more.

West Coast Pizza has some of Berkeley’s most popular pizza. They offer a good variety of toppings and some specialty pizzas to choose from, including the Spicy Chicken Pizza with chicken, Louisiana hot pepper sauce, onions, red bell peppers and jalapeños. Besides pizza, they sell hot wings by the pound, salads, & their famous garlic cheesebread. West Coast delivers and is open later than most places.
