Musashi is a charming little sushi place with delicious sushi that simply shouldn’t be missed. They have simple decor that was just remodeled to add a nice sushi bar and some tables, not a bunch of stuff all over the place attempting to create authenticity–the food and staff do that for them. The sushi is fresh and consistent with some originality to their creations. In addition to the sushi, they have big bowls of udon, and soba, with tasty broths that outshine most places in the area. Be sure to try their brand new grilled skewer Yakitori menu or some of the Izakya (Japanese Tapas) made on their charcoal grill. The prices here are quite reasonable for good sushi in Berkeley, especially for lunch where it’s an absolute steal! Their catering business is available daily and offers the same great food as the restaurant only in bento boxes & party trays- just call to order, but you should give them at least 1 day notice. They also deliver their sushi daily to Berkeley Bowl on Shattuck@Oregon.
